Hydrangea work marvels in the landscape, thanks to their amplitude, prodigious flowering, multi-seasonal interest, and overall robustness. Flowering enthusiastically from June to July, on hardy, tall, 3-4’ plants, ‘Ruby Slipper’s large flower clusters open white, before quickly transitioning to rich, deep-pink-ruby-red. Dark green, lobed, oaklike leaves turn a rich mahogany in fall. Generously supplies cut flowers, lovely fresh or dried. Exceptionally fine cross was developed by the U.S. National Arboretum
