Early to fruit, the medium-to-large, sky blue berries are spicy sweet. The upright, spreading 4-6 feet tall plants have bright blue-green foliage that contrasts with pinky-white flowers in spring, and make lovely ornamental shrubs with the foliage turning burgundy in fall. Plant with other varieties for better yield. Misty has a low chill requirement of 300 hours, and so is recommended for warmer climates as well as cooler areas to zone 5. "Chill requirement" refers to the accumulated annual hours of temperatures a plant experiences between freezing and 45 F that is required to break dormancy.
