Croissant Breakfast Casserole

Baked croissant casserole in a  turquoise-handled baking dish, topped with powdered sugar.

Serve something sweet for breakfast or brunch when company is over – or any weekend!

Ingredients:

  • 6 croissants
  • ¼ cup golden raisins
  • ¼ cup regular raisins
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • 1 pint half and half
  • 8 eggs
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Cinnamon and powdered sugar, for serving

Instructions 

  1. Cut croissants in half horizontally and lay the bottoms in a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with raisins and chopped pecans.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat together half and half, eggs, maple syrup, granulated sugar, vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  3. Put the tops on croissants and pour egg mixture over. Let soak for 2 hours or overnight.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F, covered with foil for 30 min. Remove foil and bake 20-30 minutes more, or until custard is set.
  5. Dust with cinnamon and powdered sugar to serve.
