
Try your hand at a lattice or double crust to make this baked dessert extra special!
Ingredients
- 5 apples (peeled, cored and sliced)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Pie crust of choice
- Caramel sauce
- Salt
- Cooking spray
- Turbinado sugar for topping
Instructions
- Combine thinly sliced apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon in a bowl and toss well.
- Arrange your favorite store-bought pie crust in a pie tin, layer half the apples and add several dollops of store-bought caramel sauce and a little sprinkle of flaky salt. Repeat with remaining apples, more caramel and more salt.
- Make a lattice or double crust. Spray the crust with cooking spray and sprinkle with turbinado sugar, plus more flaky salt.
- Bake at 400 degrees F for 1-1½ hours or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown.
