Also known as Woodland Pinkroot, Spigelia marilandica, ‘Little Redhead’ is a superior compact selection of this native clump-forming perennial species. Does very well in the perennial garden, shade garden, and wildflower or native plant garden. Dark-red tubular, trumpet-shaped flowers with yellow interiors are produced above atop abundant foliage. Flowers bloom in June and attract hummingbirds and butterflies. Low maintenance, long blooming and makes an excellent cut flower.
