Galanthus elwesii is the largest of the snowdrops, blooming with pure white bell-shaped fragrant flowers. Extremely cold tolerant, they are hardy to zone 3 and one of the first flowers to appear in northern temperate regions. They perform best in wooded shady areas, under shrubs or on the edge of the garden. Plant 6 to 8 per square foot. Bulb size: 7 cm.
