‘Scarlet Sentinel’s dense clusters of bright-white flowers are followed by an abundance of large, juicy, sweet, greenish-scarlet apples with an attractive red blush and crisp, sweet, pure-white flesh. Tree’s growth is vertical with a little branching, an excellent choice for small gardens, big pots or as edible landscaping in your yard. Produces sweet clusters of apples on short spurs along tree trunk. The most compact of the columnar trees we offer, ‘Scarlet Sentinel’s fruits ripen in mid-to-late September and can be stored until February. Naturally dwarf trees, only 8–12 when mature, often yield fruit the first year after planting. Good disease resistance. Partner with a companion apple tree, such as another columnar variety, for cross-pollination and more fruitful harvest. Zones: 4–8.
