Try making an herb simple syrup for this fresh twist on daiquiri. Cheers!
Ingredients
- Several sprigs of lemon verbena (or herb of choice)
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup sugar
- 5 oz white rum
- 1 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
- ¾ oz herb-infused simple syrup
- Ice (for shaking)
- Extra herbs and lime slices (for garnish)
Insturctions
- In a small pot, combine water, sugar, and a few sprigs of lemon verbena (or your preferred herb). Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let steep for 30 minutes.
- Strain out the herbs and refrigerate the syrup (keeps up to one month). When ready to make the daiquiri, add white rum, fresh lime juice, and the herb-infused syrup to a shaker with ice.
- Shake well and strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a sprig of the herb and fresh lime slices.
