Large 3-inch seed-starting pots that you plant right in the garden.
The most biodegradable way to start seeds indoors. When it's time to transplant, set pot and all into the soil. Eliminates "transplant shock". Roots easily grow through the fiber pots once set in the garden. Made of wood fiber with peat, it's the perfect choice for all your seedlings.

I'm actually quite happy with these?I ordered a pack of these pots for seed starting, and I've had great success with them. They do need to be watered more frequently because yes, the tops do dry out every few days, but... what pot doesn't? Unless it's self-watering, of course. I've found they hold up quite well to a decent watering, although they do need to be handled with care when wet. My only caution about these pots is to make sure they have sufficient air-flow between them! I put some in a 9x13 baking pan, all packed close together, and now I'm fighting off mold because of poor air circulation. :( All in all though, great pots! Treat them as carefully as you would your plants, and they should work out just fine for you. :)

Worst pots I ever boughtWe have bought peat pots from Burpee for years, but this year they reduced the size and used some or all non-peat ingredients and changed the name to "100% natural fiber pots". They are 3" across the top lip but the actual interior container size is about 2 3/4" tapering to less than 2" at the bottom. They do not fill a flat resulting in tipping. The volume of potting mix needed is reduced from what was offered in the past so they have less rooting space and they dry out faster. The pot is either dry and crispy or wet and crumbly. I used these for the same Peppers that I also planted in real 3" plastic pots. When set out the plants in the "100% natural fiber pots" pots were 1/2 the size of the ones in the plastic pots. Those "100% Natural Fiber pots" that I had left over are going in the garbage where they should have been placed to begin with.
