It’s in the name, this fabulous radish is the one you long for, crisp bite and spicy flavor. It pairs nicely here with shrimp but is a treat on its own, too.
Serves 4 as an appetizer.
Ingredients:
- 6 'Fabuloso' radishes ¾ pound shrimp – medium (26-30 count). Cooked, shelled, chilled
- ½ small red onion, sliced or pickled red onion
- ½ Tbs finely grated fresh ginger
- ¼ Tbs five spice powder
- 2 Tbs rice vinegar
- 2 Tbs honey
- ¼ Tbs kosher salt
- 1 ½ Tbs sesame oil
- ¼ cup Thai basil leaves for garnish
Recipe:
- Wash, dry and thinly slice radishes. Place radishes and shrimp on a small platter or large shallow bowl. Top with red onion.
- In a small bowl, mix ginger, five spice, rice vinegar, honey and salt. Pour mixture over radish and shrimp dish. Drizzle with sesame oil. Garnish with Thai basil.
