Blue Lake white-seeded pole bean has straight, 6" stringless pods that stay sweet and tender-crisp even at full maturity. They're wonderful fresh or frozen. A 1 oz. seed pack will plant a 20' row or 10-16 poles. Pole beans yield much longer than bush beans, right up to frost. Plant 4-6" apart at the base of poles, trellis, a fence or our Bean Tower. Burpee fully guarantees that not a drop of synthetic chemicals was used to make these excellent seeds. Certified Organic Seed.
Sow in average soil in full sun after danger of frost, spring to early summer. In rows 18-30" apart, Sow seeds about 3" apart and cover with 2" of fine soil. Firm lightly and keep evenly moist.
How to Grow
Seedlings emerge in 7-14 days. Thin to stand about 6" apart when seedlings are 1-2" tall. Bush snap beans are ready for harvesting 45-60 days after sowing, while pole snap beans are ready in 60-80 days.
Pick when pods are firm and crisp with undeveloped or small seeds. Harvest very often to avoid tough, stringy pods and ensure plant productivity.
