Direct Sow delphinium seeds directly in the ground in mid to late summer or Start indoors about 8 weeks before last frost. Sow seeds 1/8" deep in seed Starting formula. Keep evenly moist.
How to Grow
Seedlings emerge in 21-28 days. Before transfer to garden accustom to outdoor conditions by moving to a sheltered place outside for a week. Delphinium plants require cool, moist, rich soil in full sun or light shade. They need extra watering in dry, hot weather. Taller cultivars must be staked, or the flower spikes will break in stormy weather. Cut back flower stalks after blooming.
Uses
Delphinium plants are stunning for the back of the border, in cottage gardens, or as accent plants. They also make splendid cut flowers.
