How to Sow
START INDOORS in a warm, well-lighted area about 8 weeks before last frost. Sow thinly and just press into planting formula. Keep moist.
How to Grow
Seedlings emerge in 10-14 days at 70-75°F. Before transfer to garden, accustom to outdoor conditions by moving to a sheltered place outside for a week. SET PLANTS in a spot with average to rich, well-drained soil that receives partial shade. Water regularly and deadhead to encourage new blooms; cut scraggly plants back by half in late summer to spur growth and encourage new flowers to form.
Harvesting
Petunias make beautiful edging plants and also can be combined with other summer-blooming annuals in mixed plantings. They are superb in containers of all sizes and types, either alone or combined with other flowers. Their flowers attract both hummingbirds and moths.
