Beautiful specimen selected for its outstanding flower interest. The Velvet Fog® blooms profusely in mid-summer with beautiful billowy puffs of pink fog, making a smoke-like screen. Cotinus coggygria, commonly known as smoke tree or smokebush, is an easy to grow deciduous shrub. As the name suggests, its billowy clusters, turning hazy pink to purple in summer, cover the tree with fluffy, smoke-like puffs throughout. Will tolerate a wide range of soils—anything but wet—prefers dry soil and good drainage. For best color effects, prune very lightly in early spring. We recommend using as a single specimen in sunny areas, or as a striking accent plant in sunny perennial border. Proven Winners USPP32352.
