Full Description

If you value the unique and unusual, you must try this fun, floppy evergreen, also known as ‘Little River Wattle’. The shaggy, finely textured foliage on low mounding plants just begs to be petted! Drought-tolerant and deer-resistant, plant it as a garden focal point, in a rock garden, or in large decorative containers. This shrub is a heat-tolerant southern tender perennial that will grow all year in zones 9-11; in cooler zones grow it indoors in winter in a bright, sunny location.

Acacia, Cousin Itt is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Slowly growing I’ve had Cousin Itt for about 9 months in a container with very well draining soil under an awning. I’m in Florida zone 10a. We get a lot of heat, humidity, & rain so I knew there would be some challenges but overall he’s growing! I put him under an awning because of our summer rains so I could control the irrigation and I just added some mulch on top. He gets morning sun and afternoon shade. Since it’s been pretty hot I water him 1-2 times a week and make sure he gets a good drink. I let the soil dry out in between waterings. Overall I love this little plant and hope he fills out by next year. The shape and coloring of the leaves is just too cool!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lovely-but challenging Cousin Itt is cute as the dickens. Sadly I'm finding it very difficult to grow in zone 9. I bought 2 plants ......1 took off and was great for 9 months but now seems to be "rusting" and dying out. My second one died after 6 months and never really filled out.
