The slender succulent leaves of ‘Pineapple Express’ arch up like the top of a pineapple, and give a deliciously tropical look to patio containers. Burgundy spots decorate the dark green leaves. Mangaves are a cross between Agave and Manfreda, both native plants to the hot and dry areas of the US. These succulent tender perennials are vigorous growers that maintain a compact habit and have unique leaf patterns. Perfect for containers, they are low water use and won’t be bothered by deer or rabbits. More northern zones should treat them as annuals or bring them indoors for the winter.
