Seedlings dying?I bought the 72 and 36 cell greenhouses. My seedlings started out great, but several have now flopped over and there’s fuzzy white mold on the pellets. I’m not overwatering and the lid is completely off...what am I doing wrong?

DisappointedMany of the disks did not expand. Those that did, filled the cavity completely or half way. In the photo, it shows the soil mixture to the top of each cavity - not hardly. Wish there was a customer service to answer my questions.

Pellets are useless; had to buy soilWe bought this to start some tomatoes, and as directed we used warm-hot water to start hydrating the pellets. Despite adding water slowly over 20 minutes, they never grew. Well a couple did, but not nearly enough. The trays are nice, but I didn't pay all this money for just a tray! Additionally, the germination sheets arrived shredded and wrinkled. I don't think Burpee has any quality control... I really hope the seeds I purchased at least germinate.

PleasedI first purchased this kit a month ago and was very unhappy when pellets did not expand and all and therefore gave it a very poor rating. Burpee contacted me and sent replacement pellets. I’m very pleased to say that I just used them and they expanded as they were supposed to. These pellets are more like actual soil which is a preference to me since water absorption and retention is much more predictable than with the stiff or foam like pellets. Thank you Burpee!

The pellets work greatI was hesitant to buy this because of the many negative reviews. I had no trouble at all with the pellets: I used very warm water and filled about half the cell, and I used my finger to lightly press on the pellet to keep it from flipping sideways. They expanded in seconds and became light fluffy coir potting mix. I used a shrimp fork to break up the pellet and loosen the mix. Then I planted my seeds. I think people who complain about pellet expansion probably aren't using enough water or warm water. I had a 72 cell kit and every pellet expanded perfectly. If you see one is dry, just add a little more water.

Poor Quality & Quality ControlThis kit is really a waste of money. Less than 50 of the pods expanded, of those that did expand there was a a huge variance in soil amount. The end result was I had to add soil. The platic cover ripped on one side and didn't fit properly. Over all this product was a complete waste of money. Learn from my mistakes and don't blow the $20.

Horrible productBought this product and am very disappointed. Pellets did not expand hardly at all and were totally useless. I followed all the instructions to the letter and it just isn’t a good product. Ended up tossing the pellets and using my own soil and planted some seeds. Unfortunately the dome that fits on top of the seed tray also does not fit well. Huge waste of money! I do recommend burpees seeds.

36 XL cell1) I was looking at the other comments - a number of people have trouble getting the soil packets started - what I do is drop them all into a bucket of warm water - after about 2 minutes they have expanded say 80%... I then one by one take out of the bucket of warm water and gently squeeze the bag in different directions - this makes all the soil loose. 2) For me, growing the seedlings inside without any occasional wind they don't grow strong trunks and I lose a number of them in the transfer to garden stage. 3) I was looking forward to watching the video that is mentioned on the box...but no video on the website...seems that happened last year too on a different Burpee video.
