Short Description

Heavy-duty professional tomato cages.

Full Description

A great home for raising big, red, delicious tomatoes, proven by the pros, these large, durable tomato cages can manage the biggest plants. We use these tomato cages in our Fordhook Farm gardens for big varieties like Brandy Boy, Super Tasty and Burpee's Supersteak. The sturdy, stable 4-sided cages are great for flowers too. The non-rusting, long-lasting galvanized wire cages fold flat for easy storage. Cages are 40" tall. Extenders add an additional 3 ft. to our standard cage. Sturdy, big (14" square by 40" tall) cages, made of red-coated, galvanized steel, can be combined with the Tomato Cage Extender for a 72"-high structure. (Image shows cage with extender.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Blows over in high winds I bought several of these cages and thought they would be great compared to the green sticks with snap on sides that stretch out and fail to stay on, which I bought at a big box store. Once my tomato plants were growing out the top, we had a big storm come through. The only reason the tomato’s didn’t fall to the ground was because of other plants. I had to stake the cage with the green stick thing, which helped, but still wasn’t great. You would have to bury some of the cage to make it more stable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best cages ever! Needed cages that supported my tall and very tall tomato plants. These are tall and sturdy, heavy duty.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Weight of Plants and Wind Destroy These Cages Since these cages, with extenders, were over six feet tall, I had hoped they would provide ample support for my tomato plants. However, since the tomato plants became quite heavy, the weight of the plants took the cages down on a windy day. I had to drive wooden stakes through the cages to keep them upright. Some of the cages were destroyed. In one case, I had to tie the cage to a fence to keep it upright. I cannot recommend these cages. Next year, I will have to return to my previous method of using wooden stakes and tomato ladders sold by another garden vendor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great support. I have been using cone shaped tomato cages but grew unhappy with them needing additional support as the top grew heavy. I bought 3 of the largest red four footed cages to try them out. I was very pleased with their look and their strength so I bought 27 more. This was our best year for tomatoes. Also, the tomatoes did not catch the bottom rot they did in the past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best tomato cages I bought my second set of tomato cages with extensions this summer. They are sturdy and attractive--so much better than those flimsy round ones! I love that they can be folded flat and stored away, too. Even though the initial investment seems a little pricey, it is worth the investment. The ones I bought 2 years ago still look like new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Red Tomato cages I loved them, they are very sturdy, the square build is much more supportive than the round cone ones that would eventually fall over,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, don't topple over The only problem was that my tomatoes were so prolific they grew over the cages. I'll have to look into extenders for next yest. I wish they were less expensive.
