Burpee Chief Urges Gardeners To Save The Bees

(WARMINSTER, PA Mar. 11, 2016) —W. Atlee Burpee Company Chairman & CEO George Ball will take part in closing day festivities at the Philadelphia Flower Show, on Sunday, March 13th at 2:00 PM.

Did you know that every third bite of food we eat is due to pollinators? In support of the President’s 2015 National Pollinator Initiative inviting all to join the Bee & Butterfly Brigade and plant a million gardens, Burpee created a specially blended seed mix to encourage conservation and growth of a pollinator-friendly habitat, in an effort to protect the viability of our nation’s food security and keep bees, birds and butterflies flying.

Burpee’s CEO will celebrate the first centennial of our beloved National Parks Service and discuss issues surrounding pollinator decline, the trickle-down effect on our ecosystems, and what we can do to encourage a pro-pollinator environment.

Don’t miss your chance to ask George Ball questions about National Parks, all things pollinators, and find out how you can help – his talk will be an informal, open forum.

Mr. Ball will be speaking on Sunday, March 13th at 2:00 pm in The Gardeners Studio at The Philadelphia Flower Show presented by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 12th & Race Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
