Gourmet gooseberry from Switzerland.
The Swiss know and prize gooseberries—and this is their favorite. Semi- Thornless plants produce, large, smooth, ever so tasty bright-red berries; delicious in pies, jellies and juices. Upright, semi- thornless shrubs, 3-4 ft. tall, are vigorous and super-productive. Berries arrive mid-July. Self-pollinating shrubs are highly adaptable and easy-growing; resistant to mildew.

Dead on arrivalI bought one Tixia and one Invicta gooseberry plant in January 2017. The bare root plants arrived in the spring and I planted them as instructed. The Invicta leafed out and took off. Unfortunately the Tixia didn't do anything. It seemed to be dead on arrival. I've contacted Burpee for a replacement this spring. Unfortunately it sounds like there is a pattern hear, looking at the other reviews.

Never grewThis is a bare root plant. I've received it twice and both times it has not grown at all. The plant seems dead on arrival.

Ordered 2, both died.I was very excited to receive the plants, planted them according to instructions. One plant died within a month. The second had a lot of new growth, seemed happy and at about the two and a half or three month mark died. I really want to try them again.

Great looking plantJust received the Tixia Gooseberry. This variety was recommended on a few gardening forums so I thought I'd give it a try. It was packed in a small amount of moist soil and arrived dormant. It appears very healthly with lots of buds and good branching. I am very excited to try my first Tixia Gooseberry! Very pleased with the plant I received.
