The right amount of water is essential for strong seedling growth. Our Self-Watering Seed Starting System is designed to provide continuous even hydration to each cell to prevent soil from drying out.
Assembly in 1-2-3
- Put plant stands in the watering tray.
- Place self-watering mat in the watering tray and tuck in the edges. Make sure both edges of the mat touch the bottom of the watering tray.
- Set planting trays on top of the mat.
Time to Start Growing!
Expand Growing Pellets
Slowly add warm water to expand the pellets into a moisture-retaining coconut coir soil blend. Soak for a few minutes, then loosen soil evenly in each cell.
Plant Your Seeds
Sow two seeds in each cell. (Once seedlings emerge, thin the weaker one.) Unsure of what to sow? Check out this list of indoor sow vegetable seeds, including garden favorites like tomatoes and peppers!
Cover Tray with Dome
The clear greenhouse dome helps seeds germinate faster by increasing humidity and warmth. Once seedlings emerge, remove the dome.
Harden Off Seedlings
Before transplanting, make sure to acclimate your young plants to outdoor conditions over the course of a week. Wait to transplant until the weather is warm enough for your seedlings to thrive outside – look to your seed packet for more info specific to each variety!
