How to Sow Celery
Sow celery seeds in North in a warm, well-lighted area or in a hotbed about 10-12 weeks before the last heavy frost date in spring. In South and other mild areas, sow from fall to early spring. Sow seeds 1/4" deep in seed starting formula. Keep evenly moist. Seedlings emerge in 10-21 days. Transplant to individual containers when seedlings are large enough to handle easily about 1" high. Before transfer to garden, accustom to outdoor conditions by moving to a sheltered area outside for a week.
