HEIRLOOM. Very vigorous, climbing vines that are easy to grow.
Asparagus Yardlong bares loads of slender, very long pods that are best picked when less than 18 in. long. It has a delicious, nutty flavor steamed, stir-fried or saut‚ed. It's easy to grow and has no serious pests or diseases. GARDEN HINTS: Do not work around plants when wet. Keep beans picked for continuous bearing; shell mature pods and use as dried beans.
Sow in average soil in full sun after danger of frost, spring to early summer. In rows 18-30" apart, Sow seeds about 3" apart and cover with 2" of fine soil. Firm lightly and keep evenly moist.
How to Grow
Seedlings emerge in 7-14 days. Thin to stand about 6" apart when seedlings are 1-2" tall. Bush snap beans are ready for harvesting 45-60 days after sowing, while pole snap beans are ready in 60-80 days.
Pick when pods are firm and crisp with undeveloped or small seeds. Harvest very often to avoid tough, stringy pods and ensure plant productivity.
