HEIRLOOM. An old, dual purpose French variety (Dragon Langerie).
Dragon's Tongue Wax is an old, dual purpose French variety (Dragon Langerie) with gorgeous pods that are yellow streaked with purple. As snap beans, the pods turn all yellow after cooking, but they're delicious as shell beans too.
Sow in average soil in a sunny location after danger of frost, when soil has warmed thoroughly, from late spring to midsummer. In rows 11/2-21/2 apart, Sow seeds 2-3" apart and cover with 1" of fine soil. Firm lightly.
How to Grow
Thin seedlings to stand 6" apart when 1-2" high. In dry weather, keep soil well-watered, but do not work around or handle plants when wet.
Pick when pods are full and plump for shell beans; or let pods mature, cut plants and dry well, then shell beans for later use.
