The only truly sweet and mild onion for long summer days in the northern two-thirds of the country. Brought to Washington state from Corsica around the turn of the century. Yellow skin; white, juicy flesh. Not a winter keeper.

HOW TO GROW ONIONS FROM PLANTS OR SETS: Plant as early in the spring as soon as the ground can be worked. Make furrows about 1" deep, carefully place plants or sets, lightly press in and cover with soil. Space 4-5" apart. Pull green tops as needed for scallions or allow bulbs to mature fully.
