Regal Flowers up to 3 Feet Tall
Exotic and dramatic, the 'Crown Imperial' is a stately plant. Planted in groups, they stand nobly above the smaller flowers of the April garden and are sensational with daffodils. The showy clusters of pendent, bell-shaped flowers are topped with tufts of green leaves; the tall stiff stems rise from lush, handsome foliage. The foliage dies back quickly after flowering. Fritillarias are easy to grow in full sun if the soil is well drained and they will last for years when undisturbed. An outstanding plant in areas where deer are a problem - the odor repels them.
Hardy in zones 5-9.
