Sow in average soil in a sunny area, in spring after danger of frost. Sow seed thinly outdoors
and cover with 1/4" of fine soil. Firm soil lightly and keep seeds at 70-75 F. Seedlings emerge
20-30 days after seed is Sown, depending on soil and weather conditions. Seeds may be Started

How to Grow Tritoma (Kniphofia)
Thin or transplant to stand 1 1/2' apart when seedlings are large enough to handle. Plant
outdoors after danger of frost. Grow in well-drained soil, in full sun, or in part shade where
summers are hot. Water well when buds are developing in spring. Cut back spent flower stalks to
the base. Plants do not tolerate moving, Divide every 4-5 years. In cold areas, protect over
winter with a layer of straw.
