In our gardens, this shrub has turned out to be a versatile hedge, dense enough for screening and borders. Plants are easy to shape by pruning into more formal hedges. Left untouched, the slender purplish twigs are pliable and sway gracefully with soft breezes. New growth emerges purplish, then stays dark green, with bluish tones carried through the season. An easy to grow, compact, but airy plant, with fine textures and small leaves that add interest to the garden.
