How to Sow

Start phlox seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before last spring frost.

Set phlox plants in well-drained, rich soil in full sun or very light shade. Look for a site with good air circulation to prevent powdery mildew.

How to Grow

Garden phlox plants require staking. Deadheading encourages continuous bloom. Propogate by division in spring or fall. Discard old, woody parts of the clump and replant the rest.

Harvesting

Garden phlox is excellent for the middle of the border and for cutting. Phlox add brilliant color and vertical interest to the summer garden.
