  • Cortaderia, Pink Pampas is rated 1.25 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed This grass grew quickly when we planted it. I had read the reviews that it flowered white so I was not totally surprised when it did. It still looked very nice on our retaining wall. It looked quite nice when i dried up in the winter so we left it that way. Now it is May and it has not come back. I am so disappointed because we planted grass on the retaining wall because it is maintenance free and now I have to get on that wall to remove them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed The plants were much smaller than I expected. After waiting two years, one of the three finally bloomed and it's white, not pink.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Three duds I ordered three of these for our new home and was hopeful to see them grow shown online. We planted in the fall and covered the tops with a few inches of mulch to be on the safe side since the plants were very small. By spring they where all dead. I know we have only been gardening for a couple years but I guess I hoped that if we followed the instructions everything would be okay. Pretty disappointed

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hoping for pink plumes :) The plant was a smaller than I was expecting. I would like to note that it had a VERY well established root system. I was glad to see that. Since it was small, I would say about 6" tall , I decided to put the plant into a larger pot and allow it to grow inside through the winter. If I planted it in the area where I planned you would not even be able to see it. So we will see next spring what it looks like. I will be anxiously awaiting any signs of those pink plumes that look so lovely on the website. Might be helpful if the site actually said what size pot you were actually going to receive. I could not find that anywhere. I was not sure if I was receiving a 3" pot or a gallon. Just a suggestion.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waiting.... My mother-in-law bought me 3 pampas grasses and I'm still waiting to see what they do. I don't know when they're supposed to sprout the fronds but they haven't really grown much since I planted them in the late spring! Maybe they'll change in the fall? Or maybe won't sprout the pink fronds until next year? We'll see!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pampas Grass Not Pink We were really looking forward to seeing the pink pampas grass fronds when we ordered cortaderia pink pampas grass in May. We nurtured the 6-inch plants until they grew to about three and a half feet tall. In early September, they began sending up fronds. We thought the wheat-colored fronds were just immature...and we waited, and waited, and waited for them to turn pink They never turned a hint of pink and certainly not what is pictured in the Burpee description. We were sadly disappointed and are stuck with smallish plants that look like ordinary, run-of-the-mill tan pampas grass. Burpee was very good about refunding our purchase and their customer service was very good.
