How to Sow
Heucheras prefer well-drained, rich, moist soil in partial shade or full sun. For best results, look for a site that gets morning sun and afternoon shade. Heuchera grows best in an area that is is shaded during the hottest part of the day. Set plants with the crowns at the soil surface; water thoroughly; and mulch to keep the soil cool, moist and weed free.
How to Grow
Feed heucheras in the sping with a topdressing of compost, and renew the mulch around the plants as needed. Water during very dry weather. Deadhead coralbells for continuous blooming. Divide the plants in spring or fall when the centers of the crowns get woody; discard the woody part and replant the side shoots. The plants often self-Sow when they are happy.
Harvesting
Heucheras are wonderful as a woodland groundcover or specimen plant. They are also attractive in the front of the border or as an edging. The blooms of the showy-flowered types are good for cutting.
