How to Grow

Seedlings emerge in 20-30 days depending on soil and weather conditions. THIN seedlings when they have at least 2 pairs of leaves to stand 6" apart. All campanula--also known as bellflowers--require soil with excellent drainage. The taller types prefer full sun and tolerate light shade; they also may require staking. To rejuvenate crowded clumps or to propogate, divide the plants in early spring.

Harvesting

Bellflowers are reliable plants that serve many purposes in the garden. Carpathian bellflowers make attractive groundcovers, edgings, or rock-garden specimen plants. Clustered and peachleaf bellflowers are ideal for flower borders, cutting, or naturalizing in a woodland.
