How to Sow
START Butterfly Bush seeds INDOORS in a warm, well-lighted area about 8-10 weeks before last spring frost. Sow seeds shallowly in seed starting formula; or just barely press in. Keep evenly moist. Grow at room temperature and provide extra artificial light which improves growth and germination.
How to Grow
Seedlings emerge in 7-14 days. Transplant Butterfly Bush to individual containers when seedlings have at least 2 pairs of leaves. Before transfer to garden, accustom seedlings to outdoor conditions by moving them to a sheltered place outside for a week. SET plants 2-3’ apart in a sunny area with average soil after all danger of frost.
Harvesting
Butterfly bush combines perfectly with ornamental grasses and flowers that have the same bloom period. Plant these bushes throughout your garden and attract butterflies all summer.
