The fullest, most plump bloom clusters we've seen, making each stalk appear as if it has been dusted with the giant snowflakes of winter's last snowfall. Plants will flower freely the same year as planting.
Set plants in moist, rich soil. The plants can tolerate sun, but only if the soil is moist; astilbes are usually grown in partial shade.
How to Grow
Astilbes never require staking and only need to be divided every 4 or 5 years if they become overcrowded. For propogation, divide plants in early spring. Astilbes require very little maintenance once they are established in the garden.
Astilbes are showy plants for the middle of a shaded, moist-soil border. They naturalize well in woodlands. Astible flowers are perfect for fresh and dry arrangements.
