How to Sow
START INDOORS 4-6 weeks before last anticipated frost. Sow seeds 1/4" deep in seed starting formula and keep evenly moist.
How to Grow
Seedling emerge in 14-21 days. Transplant to individual containers when seedlings have at least two pairs of leaves. After last frost, set out in garden 12" apart. Thymes need full sun and well-drained soil. The life span of thyme plants averages about 5-6 years. If you notice the plants are beginning to deteriorate, prune the existing plants back hard to rejuvenate them.
Harvesting
This classic herbs aromatic leaves season many meats, poultry, stews, sauces, soups, dressings and vegetable dishes. It makes a great low, evergreen hedge. Thyme is also a great border plant or addition to a rock garden.
