How to Sow
START INDOORS about 8-10 weeks before outdoor planting time. Sow seed 1/4" deep in seed starting formula. Keep moist.
How to Grow
Seedlings emerge in 14-21 days at 70-80°F. Transplant to individual containers when seedlings have at least 2 pairs of leaves. Before transfer to garden, accustom to outdoor conditions for a week. A sunny spot with good drainage and slightly acidic soil is ideal for sweet marjoram. Pinch or harvest from plants frequently throughout the season to encourage bushy, upright growth. Propogate from seed.
Harvesting
The warm, sweet flavor of marjoram makes it one of the best culinary herbs. Try it in vinegars, salads, and sauces; add it to dishes with meat, fish, pasta or mushrooms. Marjoram is attractive in the garden and makes a good edging or rock garden plant.
