How to Sow
Sow outdoors in full sun after danger of spring frost. In frost-free areas, sow from fall to early spring. Sow seeds thinly and cover with 1/4" of fine soil. Firm lightly and keep evenly moist. Seedlings emerge in 14-21 days.
How to Grow
Thin to stand about 18" apart. To improve air circulation around the plants, cut them back by about one-half after the first flush of bloom. Cutting them back will also encourage another flush of bloom in late summer. Divide the plants every 2 or 3 years to keep them vigorous and to prevent them from spreading too much.
Harvesting
Grow catnip for your feline friends, or use it yourself for a soothing tea. Catmints are marvelous as edgings for perennial beds and borders, as groundcovers under roses, or cascading over the edge of containers. They also attract numerous pollinators, great alongside the vegetable garden!
