Lettuce, Parris Island Cos

Hardy heirloom strain with sweet flavor and crisp texture.
Named after Parris Island, SC, this heirloom variety bred by the USDA and Clemson University was introduced in 1952. The sweet flavor and crisp texture have earned it a devoted following. Growing to about 10-12" tall, the large heads have deep green leaves that turn to a creamy yellowish-white at the heart. Highly disease resistant.
