The favorite ornament for bringing good luck in the kitchen.
A treasured addition to a bride's first Christmas tree, the carrot ornament was believed to bring the bride good luck in the kitchen. Holding a special place in German legend, the carrot ornament can truly bring a tear to an old woman's eye. Crafted of glass and hand painted in Poland. 5 inches tall.

Aunt Bea from
wedding gifti gave this gift at a bridal shower. the bride and other guest were not familiar with the tradition but when I explained that giving a carrot was wishing the bride good luck in the kitchen and cooking for her new husband, everyone seemed to enjoy the idea. i have given carrot's to many new brides and hope to continue in the future.

Realistic!I don't know about bringing a tear to my eye as the legend says; however, it is truly a beautiful handcrafted ornament! It is a nice size and very detailed down to the rib effect of a carrot. I love it but, as you can imagine, it is VERY fragile.
