To maximize vegetable garden production, bees are essential to help pollinate the plants so
fruit will be produced. To attract bees, plant the herb borage near melons, cucumbers, squash,
beans, peppers, and tomatoes. When the borage blooms, the bees will fill the air around its
blossoms and will also find the flowers of nearby vegetables. Borage is also believed to repel
some garden pests, including tomato hornworms.
