Book-Giant Tomatoes is rated out of 5 by 1.Rated 4 out of 5 by Dufus from Good Information For A Tomato Garden I read this book four years ago when it was first released for sale. The author has done a good job of assembling information for a beginner gardener to understand what a tomato plant needs to be productive. This guide covers topics from starting your seeds, preparing a garden spot, watering, pollinating, and saving your seeds. This book is targeted at "Growing Giant Varieties" as the title suggests. I found the book to be a good read on growing tomatoes in general. This book suggests to focus the plant's energy on one or two fruits for maximum size. If you are a typical tomato grower, you will need to read around the thoughts of getting a six pound tomato and work toward getting better production. The only thing this book lacks is more detailed information toward the fertilizer requirements during each stage of growing. I have recently learned more on this topic than the book addresses. However, I do refer back to this book on occasion to refresh my memory as it is a decent guide on growing tomato plants in general.Date published: 2014-07-14
