I'm growing these now!The negative review was a product of human error. The melon in the picture was not ripe! Patience is a virtue. It will become oval on the vine, and very large! We have tons of them, but still waiting for them to ripen. I learned my lesson the same way they did, and picked an unripe melon. This seed produced well

wrong wrong wrongThe first fully ripe 18- pound melon I harvested a few days ago is totally different from the picture on seed packet which I bought at a walmart store. Taste was good though.
1. round shape , not oblong
2. yellow flesh, not orange
3. White seeds, not black

SO EXCITING!I live in the northeast AND didn't get the seeds in the ground until the first week of June- I thought the odds were against me. Almost all of the seeds germinated on 8 inch mounds of 5, I thinned to 3 per hill. The vines have been growing fast, about 4-5 feet each! I've been quick to position them how I want them before the tendrils attached to things or each other. I have 3 little watermelons and tons of blossoms. This morning one of the melons plumped up about triple it's size in 24 hours, so exciting!
