Very hardy and attractive perennial vine.
Passion fruit exhales a rich, sensuous fragrance, a tropical; lange of fruit and flowery notes. The egg-sized fruits' musky, tart, juicy pulp can be savored raw or used to make juices, ices and sauces. The vigorous ornamental vine with showy flowers, rapidly grows to 10-20 ft. and will meander along fences and trees. The maypop is one of the hardiest passion flowers and will overwinter, dying back to the ground and popping back to life the following season (hence "May pop").

I bought the plant but could not get to grow. The plant came wilted with most of its leaves off. It died within a few day. I was pleased that Burpe replaced the plant but the second plant also died. It also came very wilted but did come back from the root. Unfortunately it did not stand up to the heat here in Abilene.

BeautifulI was in the midst of moving when the plant arrived this spring, and I planted it late in less-than-ideal soil, but its doing great! The flowers are gorgeous and smell wonderful. I'm looking forward to tasting the fruit once it ripens. I'm a little worried about transplanting it out of it's crummy pot since it's already vining, but it seems hearty enough to handle some more moving.

twice ordered; twice dead or near dead plants comeSorry; despite Burpee being good at offering replacements for the first order of three plants; the next reorder came with no dirt in the pots; and dead appearing 10 inch stalk...I carefully worked each and every stalk into high quality soil; and so far, with two weeks of careful watering and moving in and out of sun, no luck; the vine segments appear totally dead...I always thought that the Burpee name was the highest caliber, but not when ordering plants...guess I might even stop using their seeds....I wasted a lot of money trying to get passionflower plants from them.

unreal, wonderful, spectacular plant!Nothing like it ever in my garden! It spread and grew like crazy; it would bloom in streaks of like 8-10 new flowers a day; then they would shrivel up and new ones come. A very nice, fragrant, unusual bluish purple flower! I would pick them off the vine and put in little vases; everyone loved them!
