The biggest gooseberry. The size of a small plum and the best-tasting of the green-fruit varieties.
Whoa! The biggest gooseberry we've ever met—and the best of the green-fruit gooseberries for fresh eating. Originating in England, this prized culinary gooseberry bears sweet, greenish-yellow berries the size of small plums. Delicious for pies, preserves and freezing. Vigorous, spiny, spreading bushes offer the highest yields of any gooseberry, the fruits hanging in heavy clusters down the length of the branches. Excellent resistance to mildew and other diseases, as well as late spring frosts. Fruits ripen in July.
