Excellent combination of red and gold. Ultimate multi season landscape plant. Free Flowering these plants produce a carpet of blooms in your landscape. Try planting them around tulips for colorful ground cover in the spring, or plant with flowering kale in the fall.
Start indoors about 12 weeks before transplanting. Sow seeds thinly and evenly in seed Starting formula. Cover completely; firm lightly and keep evenly moist.
How to Grow
Transplant the hardened-off seedlings to the garden after the last heavy frost to an area in full sun with rich, moist, well-drained soil. (If seedlings are hardened off, they will tolerate light frost.) In areas with hot summers, you may plant pansies in partial shade. Set plants at least 6" apart. Deadhead pansies--or pick the flowers frequently--to keep them blooming. Blooms in spring, summer.
Pansies are perfect for the front of beds, borders, rock gardens, and edgings. They also look beautiful in small bouquets as well as patio containers and window boxes.
