This refers to whether a plant is an annual, biennial or perennial. Annuals complete their life cycles in one year; biennials produce foliage the first year and bloom and go to seed the second year; perennials can live for more than two years.
This refers to whether the seed should be sown early indoors and the seedlings transplanted outside later, or if the seed should be sown directly in the garden at the recommended planting time.

Great performerI have been growing Angelinia for several summers now. This plant thrives in the hot humid conditions in Louisiana. I planted in May, and they bloom heavily until October. It is great to have a plant that has no bug problems.

Not a thriverI received the 10 tiny pelleted seeds. Only 2 sprouted and one died within a few days. The final seed that sprouted held on to its tiny leaves for maybe 2 weeks then shriveled up. Not a plant to grow from seed easily. I'm not an expert, but I have grown a variety of plants from seed and this one is finicky.

Beautiful little plantOnly 10 pelleted seeds come in the packet, and only two sprouted, but they are well worth it. I do hope that my plants go to seed. Just a pretty spot of color in an empty space. Definitely hardy and well suited for SE North Carolina. No bugs. No disease. No fungus.

Best annual everI grew Angelonia Serenita Raspberry for the first time in 2012 and wow what a performer. It started out great with 100% germination. An unexpected bonus was a very tidy habit from first transplanting to removal in the fall. It was in bloom from early July to October and never needed a bit of special attention. We had record breaking heat and a nasty drought this year but Angelonia never flinched.
