Amaranthus, Love Lies Bleeding (Green)

HEIRLOOM. An eye-pleasing, attention-getting knockout. The green version of an heirloom red variety, the luminous light-green thick foliage contrasts with pendant bright green plumes. Unusual green trusses are vase-ready, fresh-cut or dried. Blooms continuously midsummer to frost.
Sow in ordinary garden soil in a sunny area after danger of frost. Sow seeds evenly and thinly in rows 18-24" apart and cover with of fine soil. Firm lightly and keep evenly moist.
How to Grow
Seedlings emerge in 10-14 days depending on soil and weather conditions. THIN seedlings to stand 18" apart when plants are 1" high. Transplant hardened-off seedlings after all danger of frost and when night temperatures remain above 50°F.
Plant amaranthus along a fence or a wall as a hedge. Use love-lies-bleeding flowers in dried floral arrangements for a striking effect.
