eCommerce Marketing Manager - Acquisition

W. Atlee Burpee & Co. the leading supplier to the American home gardener has an immediate opening for an eCommerce Marketing Manager - Acquisition.  The eCommerce Marketing Manager is responsible for developing online marketing and sales strategies to enable the growth of Burpee’s eCommerce channels.  This individual will develop and lead the execution of marketing strategies, initiatives, and activities designed to increase online traffic and acquire new customers.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement online and offline marketing programs to create the strongest possible Internet presence for our company.
  • Manage multiple marketing projects and campaigns to drive online sales and channel expansion.
  • Develop and manage various tests to drive improved performance.
  • Manage numerous online marketing vendors to achieve increased performance.
  • Manage overall channel performance by working with Analytics, IT, and vendors to assess campaign and test effectiveness.  Provide regular reports to Senior Management.
  • Assist in managing new product deployment/acquisition tactics via online channels.
  • Work closely with internal/external teams to assemble creative assets to support online marketing.
  • Design and implement Search Engine Marketing (PPC campaigns and SEO programs) initiatives to increase online traffic.
  • Create and manage affiliate marketing programs; recruit new affiliate marketing partners.
  • Evaluate new online marketing opportunities to expand distribution (i.e. mobile).
  • Work with Website & Product/Content Management groups to recommend and implement site functionality improvements and new product development needs.
  • Establish benchmarks to measure success and ROI.
  • Deliver results within budget constraints.
  • Perform other duties, as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in eCommerce/Online Marketing.
  • Proven knowledge of eCommerce marketing tactics including affiliate, search (PPC and SEO), display, CPA, CPC, CPM and other conventional and unconventional online marketing tactics.
  • Understanding of online marketing trends, tactics, and current events, particularly as they relate to the development and management of online advertising.
  • Significant experience in managing online marketing vendors and advertising agencies.
  • Fundamental understanding of technology and Internet-based solutions.
  • Thorough understanding of the online customer experience and best practices for selling online.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Self-starter, adaptive, and innovative.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business Administration; MBA preferred.
