W. Atlee Burpee & Co. the leading supplier to the American home gardener has an immediate opening for a Senior Financial Analyst. This position is responsible for implementing cost and profitability accounting systems and designing a reporting system for monitoring and understanding the costs and profitability of the Company, customers, product lines and products.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Designs and implements systems to collect costs and analyze profitability of the Company’s divisions, departments and products.
• Works with brand and product managers to set up systems to effectively collect and standardize information used to allocate the Company’s expenses to departments and products.
• Analyze account profitability to set sales budgets.
• Reconciles cost analysis to financial reporting, making sure all costs are properly accounted for.
• Participate in weekly retail and direct marketing meetings.

Qualifications

• CPA with three years public accounting experience.
• Experience working with data base management systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work on projects independently.
