W. Atlee Burpee & Co. the leading supplier to the American home gardener has an immediate opening for a Product Manager – Flower Seeds. This position is responsible for the sourcing and recommending new flower seed varieties, developing product information to properly position these products and market them effectively, evaluate the new products at the different trials and ensures that quality photography is available at the time of introduction.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Selects new flower seed varieties related to the company’s brands as well as recommends discontinued varieties. Provides horticultural product/content support pertaining to the use of the company’s brands on licensed products.
- Horticultural content (includes, growing information, "How-To" information, selling copy, etc.) for flower seed varieties.
- Works with Purchasing/Inventory Control.
- Recommends new product forecasts to the Direct Marketing analyst(s).
- Recommends copy and relevant horticulture information on the new products.
Qualifications
- BA Degree in Horticulture or related field
- 5+ years of "Hands on Experience"
- Combination of both education and experience will be considered
- Proactive and self motivated
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in high-pressure environment!
